Foregather

We help women to cultivate creative energy through practices for remembering our connections with self, community and land.

To make our creative contributions from a place of aliveness.

Between Britain and South Africa. May all women remember.

An experimental gathering in service of creative energy

Foregather offers gatherings and practices that connect women more deeply to creative energy. Through remembering our relationship with self, community and the earth. Read more about us here.

About us

L-R: Fran, Emily, Laura

Laura, Emily and Fran are longtime friends and collaborators. We bring to Foregather both our experiences of cultivating creative energy and our gifts in gathering and making:

  • Laura, the gifts of creative direction and experiences, and subtle plant and energy medicine

  • Emily, the gifts of facilitation, ceremony, grief tending and coaching

  • Fran, the gifts of hosting and brand design.

Laura is a creative director and experience designer, community herbalist and energy healing practitioner, living between the UK and South Africa. With decades of experience in design, Laura now also supports others to realise their creative dreams through coaching and inspirational experiences, informed by her upbringing in South Africa and its beautiful, complex land.

Emily helps people to collaborate in life-giving ways and cultivate graceful endings, through facilitation, ceremony, coaching and grief tending. Emily is also the creator of GriefSick, a soul-led project exploring and bearing witness to chronic illness grief. Emily lives in Devon, UK, friend to Oak and River Exe.

Fran is the Director of Francesca Cook Studio, a brand and digital design studio for positive change that operates as a collective, driven by the belief that things can be better for people and the planet. Fran brings to gatherings a warm welcome, heartfelt cooking and inclusive, seasonal menu design. Fran grew up in Yorkshire, and currently lives in Sussex, UK.

Our foremothers. L-R: Shirley, Winifred

Our foremothers who guide us. The knowledge and practices of Indigenous people around the world, who are the guardians of ways of being that the West is only now remembering. Ways of being that are more collective, more connected to land, elements, plants, animals and the ancestral and spirit worlds.

Britain and South Africa, the beautiful, maddening lands we call home.

We do not use AI for Foregather’s creative work. All words and artwork are by Laura, Emily and Fran, channeling creative energy, inspired by many, supported by our practices.

May all women remember.
